LoGOz - The Ups & Downs & all in between - The Rollercoaster year that was 2014 !!!

Our New Year hangovers had barely lifted as we got 2014 underway with one of our biggest gigs of our brief career so far, on Friday January 17th at The Cluny2 in Newcastle supporting DUNCAN REID AND THE BIG HEADS. This show was a sell out and a big thanks to Keith Newman and Radio Northumberland for arranging this brilliant night. A great start to the year was quickly followed with some local gigs at Bubbles Ashington and Bar 38 Newcastle, and then our first Live gig in Sheffield at The South Sea Venue in February. Spreading our black punk rock wings and getting some mileage on the clock was standing us in good stead, as well as getting us as tight as a camels arse in a sandstorm!
March then saw us playing at Think Tank? in Newcastle supporting SUPERCHARGER and EUREKA MACHINES. The Machines were on a successful UK Tour as main man Chris Catalyst showcased his band/talents whilst taking a break from Guitar playing duties with Ginger Wildheart. Another cracking night and big thanks to John Davies from Supercharger for this :) This month was also our first gig in Leeds, rocking out the Packhorse venue with our good friends STILETTO FARM & STONE COLD KILL. Closing a busy March we played 2 gigs in one day on the 22nd, starting with our hometown Punk all day Festival at Woodhorn Lane in Ashington, followed by an evening show with SPITFIRE BULLETS, at The Dog & Parrot in Newcastle.
April got off to a flying start with some cracking Radio promotion slots. We were interviewed and performed Live on air on Radio Northumberland, Koast Radio and Lionheart FM. As well as keeping LoGOz gig bandwagon rolling in and around the North East we ended the month with our first ever gig in Edinburgh playing the popular Bannermans venue with DUNT.
With the climate changing and Spring in the air we headed up to the world famous Barrels Ale House in Berwick for the first time in May. This also gave us some great local press and a brilliant debut gig! Back to the other side of the border to rock The Quay in Blyth before showing our charitable side with a fundraising gig at The Sea Horse in Whitley Bay on the 24th. The next day saw Paul and me at Bents Park in South Shields for our first ever Acoustic gig, thanks to Tony Guerilla Promotions. This kinda turned a corner and opened up a new angle for LoGOz. We had a blast and got the initially bemused crowd right on our side. A great afternoon ending in autograph signing, photos and great banter and free food! We finished the month with a great gig on Saturday 31st at Newcastle University Students Union with alternative rockers DIGITS.
With World Cup Fever gripping the Country we kicked off June with a great gig at The Doll @ The Black Bull in Gateshead. Following on from our successful Bents Park unplugged set we played 2 acoustic sets on the weekend of 14/15th, first on  Saturday we played at The Mighty Dub Fest at Druridge Bay Country Park in Hadston, then on Sunday at Whitley Bay food festival. The latter proving the location for the No Win Situation acoustic video bootleg doing the rounds on Youtube, featuring a rather refreshed lady all singing and a dancing with us, check it out :) The following week we crashed into South Shields at the Cross Arms Hotel as England crashed out of the World Cup! Despite the inevitable Football disappointment we were still on a sonic high and ended the night with a chance meeting and great band crack with 3 Colours Red/Gary Numan guitarist Chris McCormack. A few days later we were rocking the Hoppings at Town Moor in Newcastle before playing a second gig later that night on a fundraiser at The Northumberland Arms. We climaxed our busy June with a hometown gig in Ashington on Sunday the 28th on Station Road Fayre Day.
July got underway with another acoustic slot, this time at The Roxbury in Blyth on the 5th then the next night we were back on home turf at Bubbles Ashington supporting Irish Punk veterans HOOLIGAN promoted by Radio Northumberland’s Mr. Newman and again a cracking night indeed! We continued the month in amongst summer holidays and hot humid nights to keep rolling with an electric gig at The Roxbury and a return to the Black Bull, this time supporting British Punk stalwarts ABRASIVE WHEELS.
We kicked off August with the new Premier League Football season with a double set gig at The Flying Horse in Blyth. This was kinda new territory stamping on the toes of traditional cover bands, as we delivered 2 original sets and plenty of encores, and the place was bouncing! We continued this new tradition throughout the month by returning to the Barrels in Berwick and a brilliant night at The Bebside Inn in Blyth for more double set blasts!
September began with an exclusive private party gig at The Conchie in Ashington on the 7th. We then strutted our stuff for the first time at The Lord Clyde in Byker before finishing the month back at the Doll supporting THE ROUGHNECK RIOT on their successful UK Tour promoting their brand new Album.
As my favourite time of the year, the Autumn, was kicking in things were just starting to get a bit more interesting! Due to unforeseen circumstances on the 3rd at The Clef & Cask gig in Cramlington with ALL OUT ATTACK, we had to perform as a 2 piece, with Paul unfortunately out of action. So with no rehearsal or time to adjust, Carl and l bit the bullet and performed as a duo with my Jack White to his bearded Meg :) Against the odds we pulled it off with a blistering set - even if we do say so ourselves!
Paul returned to action the following week as we supported THE DOLLYROTS from U.S.A on their headline date at The Three Tuns Gateshead, on a break from their UK Tour with THE BUZZCOCKS. Another amazing night and thanks to Phil Insangel. A few days later we were again hit with Paul having to sit our next gig out on the sidelines, this being a charity fundraiser at The Elephant in Ashington with GUARDIAN ahead of their European Tour. Carlos and me had now found our stride as a 2 piece and rechristened ourselves LoGO2 and we rose to the challenge yet again with aplomb :) As October drew to a close we headed to  The Riverside in Selby on the 25th, third on the Bill on an all day Punk Festival headlined by SHAM 69. This was again a fantastic night and performance by the band. This lead to us being approached by Sham 69 Tour Manager to asking us to open up the following weekend for COCKNEY REJECTS on their opening night of their 35th Anniversary Tour in Gateshead! Yes please :) So the Halloween weekend proved to be a scary monster busy one with us playing 4 gigs in 24 hours! We kicked off 7:30pm on Saturday November 1st at The Teams Club Gateshead supporting The Rejects then blasted over to The Roxbury in Blyth to play with local Punk heroes COLLISION. Then on Sunday at 3pm we opened up a charity gig at North Shields Rugby Club before heading over to The Golden Lion in Jarrow for a randomly brilliant bizarre unplugged session!! A great weekend, and it didn’t end there, as on the Monday night Clemmy (LoGOz Manager) and me were interviewed Live on Radio Northumberland on the New Wave with Newman Show! Phew :) November 15th we hit The Music Shack in South Shields for the first time and a great gig with local sleazemiesters WILDTHORN amongst others! The following week we smashed it up at the Masons Arms in Blyth with another double setter, which was interspersed with a mini acoustic set by Paul and me, which went down a storm. We rounded the month of with a brilliant night back at The Doll supporting THE FUZZBRATS from Holland in their mini Tour of England promoting their spankin' new Album!
With the advent calendars 6 doors open we returned to our old haunt The Conchie in Ashington for a fun festive bash with METAL GODS. The following Friday we shot back up to Alnwick on Chaz Ellis' Schools Out Show on Lionheart FM for our first full band plugged in Live Radio Session. We were really tearing up the rule book on this one, with the fantastically strangest set up we've ever played! But yet again it all came together and we had a blast, and finished the Show with our punked up version of Happy Xmas (War is Over). With our bellies full and heads pounding, and the smell of new aftershave, perfume and turkey farts in the air we headed back to The Roxbury in Blyth for our Boxing Day Bonanza! This was indeed a Christmas cracking gig with a great animated and very vocal crowd! We even invited Tony from Collision to sing guest vocals on our cover of Pretty Vacant! Another brilliant double set gig for LoGOz as we tore the place another arsehole with more new friends and fans made and a great end to 2014. There was still time on Sunday 28th to lend a helping band at Pegswood Club as we ripped it up one more time!
To top it off 'Mexicola' was voted at Number 3 in Radio Northumberland’s Top 79 Punk Festive countdown, as voted for by the listeners. Thanks for putting us up in the realms of The Sex Pistols and Ramones :)
So all in all it’s been a fantastically interesting year and we have gone from strength to strength, albeit in small steps, cos building this machine takes time :) We have gained many new followers along the road of 2014, yet also seem to have lost one or two along the way too! Your loss people. This is a great journey to be on and it’s only gonna get better and busier. Massive thanks to everyone who has supported and helped us this year, including all the bands, promoters, Radio Stations etc we appreciate it hugely! Special mention to our Manager Clemmy Scotswood and Mizzii Bee for the tireless behind the scenes work. Hope you have all had a great Christmas! Please keep on this Punk Rockin' Rollercoaster.... and dont catch Ebola...Please enjoy...Mexicola :)
Happy New Year

LoGOz - Live Lionheart FM Radio Session 12/12/14

Friday night saw us heading back to Alnwick in the familiar shape of Lionheart Radio studios for a return to Mr Chaz Ellis' Schools Out Show. We last appeared on his show in September where we played a few LoGOz acoustic tracks. But this time we were entering new territory with a full Live band session...can we pull it off? Strictly speaking the studio is not designed for full Live band performances, so we were well up for the sonic challenging experience! Carlos had his drums set up just outside the Live control room as Paul and myself had our Guitar stacks side by side next door. So this really was quite tricky to get a good sound balance as Carlos literally could only hear himself, and I only had my natural voice as a vocal guide. But hey this is punk rock boys and girls, even if the rest of the show was quite the opposite. I'm sure some of the regular listeners were choking on their horlicks as we tore into NO WIN SITUATION, MEXICOLA and an embryonic HAPPY XMAS (War is Over) and we had no idea how it sounded on the airwaves! But from where we were standing it sounded great!!!

We had a few brief interview chats with Chaz as we chewed the fat over our re-release and repacking of PSYCHO RADIO in 2015, our recent support slots with The DOLLYROTS, SHAM 69 and The COCKNEY REJECTS, as well as Royal Mail and Christmas dinners! All in all a great experience and something we look forward to doing again very soon. Thanks again to Chaz Ellis and everyone at Lionheart.

LoGOz - The Conchie Gig Ashington Review 6/12/14

Always good to go back to old stomping grounds, so in this case, The Conchie in Ashington. This was the scene of LoGOz second ever gig way back in August 2012. We were sharing the stage with Mark Evans latest Judas Priest tribute METAL GODS for a one off local Festive bash! We rolled up to the venue at 7:15 pm in plenty of time to get soundchecked nice and loud, then to mingle with the incoming crowd of friends and family etc. Good to see some of my ex Blisters bandmates Neil & Dunny there too with their good ladies, showing their support. Also, LoGOz first ever drummer Harry who was singing along and playing air drums at every opportunity! Good lad :)
We hit the stage just after 9pm with a tongue in cheeky sneaky Happy Christmas intro, then we blasted into LONG TIME DEAD and kept the pace up with another tight performance in front of our home crowd. Great to play to my Son Kieran who was given special permission to attend and he loved it! Nodding along to every beat complete with his Ramones tee shirt and Sex Pistols badge he looked every part the budding Dee Dee he aspires to be – haha, thats my boy! I had to be on my best behaviour of course although a few slips of the tongue led to a bit of trouble with my Ps & Qs, never mind my Fs & Cs ;) We even threw in PRETTY VACANT for good measure before finishing off with MEXICOLA and left the stage to the cries of ''MORE'' ringing in our ears :)
It was METAL GODS turn next as wor Mark got to live the dream of being Priest frontman for the night as they delivered a solid rockin' set climaxing with metal classics YOU'VE GOT ANOTHER THING COMING and LIVING AFTER MIDNIGHT. Another successful night for everyone yet again and huge thanks again to Mr Evans & co and of course everyone who came down to make a noise with us :)
Just to remind you all with Christmas around the corner, if you're searching for a few stocking fillers, then look no further than www.gofundme.com/logoz with plenty of snazzy original festive gifts available for everyone and their Granny! LoGOz - Ashington Gig with Metal Gods this Saturday & The LURKERS Support 2015

Just a reminder, local lads and lasses, that this Saturday we will be rocking our hometown Ashington at our old stomping ground The Conchie. Thanks to Mark Evans we will be sharing the stage with Metal Gods, so any Judas Priest aficionados will be in for a Festive treat and jingle bell bent for leather!!! This is a FREE Event and kicks off at 8:30PM so get down early and get in the Christmas spirit. 'Tis the season to be jolly and all that baubles, so lets make it a cracker! So while l've now exhausted a few shite Xmas quips, lets just hope to see lots of ya at The Conchie tomorrow night :)

Also a cool piece of News just come in. We're pleased to announce we will be supporting UK Punk veterans THE LURKERS at The Doll in Gateshead on Sunday February 8th 2015. As a fan of the band and seeing them a few times over the years, including a memorable gig at The Newcastle Arena supporting The DAMNED, this is gonna be a great gig for LoGOz. More details on that when we have them so stay tooned :)

LoGOz - The Doll @ The Black Bull + The Fuzzbrats 28/11/14

Its always great to be back playing at The Doll @The Black Bull in Gateshead, as its one of our favourite venues to play. You know you’re gonna get a great sound in there (thanks to Shev) and a very receptive crowd! Friday night did not disappoint! Arriving at the venue just before 8pm it still gave us plenty of time to get a meaty soundcheck nailed, as our Dutch buddies The Fuzzbrats had nipped into Town to sample the delights of the local takeaway selection!

With our set time being 9:15pm the night was gathering momentum as well as gathering eager bodies into the vibrant room that is The Doll. So we kicked off bang on time straight into familiar territory with LONG TIME DEAD setting the pace for a frantically organised slick 12 song setter climaxing with Live favourite MEXICOLA. A great reaction from a buzzing crowd and with the merchandise selling well, we were more than happy as we waited for The Fuzzbrats.
Being no stranger to Dutch websites, l had only seen the band online so was looking forward to checking them out Live and I enjoyed their quirky punk keyboard driven set. Although their lead singer claimed he couldn’t understand LoGOz vocalist in between songs as "..he talk too fast.." haha! By then we had already cemented our Anglo-Dutch relations, although main man and Bass player Pete is originally from Essex, and a top geezer! After the gig we exchanged stories, beers, photos and banter! So we're already looking forward to hooking up with the Fuzzbrats again in the near future, maybe even playing in their beautiful country? Who knows :)
Once again another successful gig for LoGOz, and it really was a cracking turn out considering there was a few big gigs in the area that same night, in the shape of UK Subs at Think Tank? and Hugh Cornwell at The Sage in Gateshead...not forgetting erm..... Erasure at The Academy!!! On that note I give a little respect, l'll rephrase that, I'll give a lot of respect to everyone who came along and gave their support for the band yet again! You all know who you are :)

LoGOz - Masons Arms Debut Gig Review 21/11/14

The rain was indeed lashing down in Northumberland on Friday night as we made our way to Blyth for our debut gig at the Masons Arms. Even a flat tyre on the LoGOz mobile wasn’t going to dampen our spirits tonight!!! So therefore soundcheck was a bit behind schedule, we nailed a great sound thanks to Mark and Co Pilot Glenn. There wasn’t much time to mingle as the place filled up and we hit the stage just after 9pm. We kicked off with ALIENATION and blasted through the 9 tracks from the original PSYCHO RADIO Album. Plenty of good banter between songs kept the momentum going and we finished off with MEXICOLA to close the first part of our set.
After a short break Paul and myself played an exclusive mini acoustic set taking requests from the crowd. We ended up playing DEAD OR LIVING IN AMERICA and NO WIN SITUATION especially for Clemmy, and Nicky. Then new-ish apocalyptic KARMAGEDDON as well as HELLO LONELY. Then as confidence was soaring I did a mini solo slot playing a song of mine from my old band The Blisters called 'RUBY MURRAY' a nice punk pop stomp about the joys of local drinking, fighting and regret of dodgy takeaways!!! I then finished off with a cover of The Street Dogs' PUNK ROCK 'N ROLL which set us up nicely for our final set!!!
We ripped straight into LONG TIME DEAD and tore through the rest of our back catalogue of newer tracks before finishing off with a cover of the Sex Pistols classic PRETTY VACANT which went down a storm.
Another cracking night for the band and a big thanks to everyone who braved the shite weather and came down to support us we love you all!!! Big up to  Clemmy, MizziiBee and Mark Evans again, under difficult circumstances done a great job with the sound.

LoGOz - Music Shack Review & Upcoming gig Friday in Blyth / Radio Show / Birthday

The dark nights are well and truly cutting in as we sped into South Shields in search of The Music Shack / Club Sandy on Saturday night. Not the easiest of venues to find, and after a detour around Morrisons car park and the sound of distant drums we reached our destination.

We caught the set of the band before us 'OneManRevival' with their cool Jimmy Eat World esque quirk rock we were warmed up nicely. We hit the stage just after 9pm. It was a great sound in there thanks to Insangel as we blasted a full on 30 minute set to our new found friends. Great turn out and reaction too for our first visit (not the last) to The Music Shack. Thanks to 'Love The Sinner' & 'WildThorn' too for cracking sets and compliments making it another memorable LoGOz gig. Big up to Phil Hughes, Rob, Sophie, MizziiBee and Do the Bartlett man. You know why guys :)

New Wave With Newman - 3/11/2014

As a new working week began on Monday, we kept the LoGOz bandwagon rolling with a solo interview with Mr Keith Newman on his Live 'New Wave with Newman Show' from 8 til 10pm. Great to be there in the spanking new premises of Radio Northumberland. The interview was as ever full of good banter, top tunes, plenty of laughs and great plugs for the band with everyone on top form.

Also present was LoGOz Manager Clemmy Scotswood, complete with video camera, and Punky Paul with his deadpan delivered weekly gig guide! Thanks to Keith for also playing my Solo acoustic track 'Just Like Adam Ant' in honour of my Hero's 60th Birthday on November 3rd.

Don't forget you can email Keith on:

LoGOz - 4 Gigs in under 24 hours weekender REVIEW!!!

Our weekend gig-a-thon got off to a good start on Saturday night as we rolled into The Teams Club in Gateshead bang on time, 6 o'clock as arranged, for our set to open COCKNEY REJECTS’ 35th Anniversary Tour. We were greeted by our genial host for the evening and general all round punk rock entrepreneur Steif A Billy. Warm handshakes and banter were exchanged as we watched main support band GIMPFIST soundchecking. The venue itself put me in mind of Phoenix Nights, a kind of big old school traditional style concert hall. We liked this. And not a wheelchaired Chairman drinking beer out of a vase in sight!

Time for our soundcheck, and the place was already starting to fill up. Not for the first time in this band I was getting electric shocks from the main vocal mic.  Paul Spicer Sawyer is convinced I've got Alien implants! Even after changing mics, leads, power cables etc I was still getting belts. Not good. But hey this is a punk rock show right? So I suffered for my art and adapted my vocal delivery style, making sure I kept a safe distance! As we kicked into 'Long Time Dead' at 7:50pm there was a cracking crowd in and plenty of Harrington jackets and Dr Marten foot tapping going on as we blasted through a solid 40 minute set!!! Job done. Shame we couldn’t stay to watch GIMPFIST and of course THE COCKNEY REJECTS, but we already had another gig commitment remember?? So as we shook hands and embraced new friends it was time to head back to our native Northumberland for gig number 2 of the evening. 1 down 3 to go!!!

We pulled up at the Roxbury in Blyth as COLLiSiON were enjoying a sneaky tab at the main entrance as lead singer Tony Houghton asked " Did yi git here on ya fuckin Space Shuttle?" Still buzzing on the adrenalin of our gig earlier we were well warmed up and after a great soundcheck we were ready to hit the stage just after 10pm. Again a great crowd in as folk sang, danced, clicked their phones and punched the air, some still even in fantastic Halloween gear, as we tore through our second 40 minute set of the night! Get in!!! A great sound too, so thanks to Vince Race for that. Finally we could relax and enjoy a well deserved beer or 6 as COLLiSiON ripped into punk classics including 'New Rose' by THE DAMNED and 'Pretty Vacant' by The SEX PISTOLS. They also played some of their original tracks from the New E.P. which went down well with The Roxbury brigade. What a night and we had it all to do again on Sunday. This is the life!!!

Sunday morning began with my best Barry White. I meant my voice by the way, that wasn’t cockney rhyming slang! Anyway we were due at North Shields Rugby Club Walk of Life Charity Gig for 2pm soundcheck so we had to get our arses in gear sharpish. So Clemmy, Mizzii Bee and me arrived at said venue in good time as Clemmy went to investigate. This place was a tad too quiet with not much noise going inside for me. A few minutes later Clemmy returned with the news that this was the wrong fucking Rugby Club in North Shields, but they were actually having a charity event as well. What were the chances of that? HELLO CLEVELAND!!! So after our mini Spinal Tap moment and blaming the Sat Nav we rang Paul & Carlos who, after stopping laughing guided us to the RIGHT venue. We were first band on kicking the event off so Soundcheck was a breeze and not an electric shock in sight. We opened things up at 3:15pm after exchanging my usual Sunday dinner for pints of Carling we were a well-oiled machine and tight as ever as the appreciative all aged Charity crowd lapped up our LoGOz sabbath matinee. A few familiar faces had made the journey and was great to see and hear their support, not only for us, the bands but for the charidee too :) Thanks to local MEEEEEETTTTAAAAAAAAAAL Singer, Soundman, Painter and Decorator extraordinaire Mark Evans for arranging this event and asking us to play. A great afternoons work indeed even though we won nowt on the Domino cards ;)

lt was just starting to get dark as we headed out of North Shields and on to The Golden Lion in Jarrow. On the way we got News that out of the 4 acts on this acoustic event, 1 had already played, and 2 had pulled out!!! To say we were disappointed was an understatement!! To cancel so late and leaving the Promoter in the shit was a bit harsh, but hey, I can’t speak for the other bands. So basically we wanted to make the best out of a bad situation. And do that we shall. With aplomb :) So I decided on a total unplugged set. Let’s just sit with our guitars in people’s faces and just sing our songs!! This ended up being one of the strangest intimate best ever performances we will probably ever do. Maybe you just had to be there! Just ask Iain Bartlett! As Carlos took a well-earned break, Paul and me played almost every single LoGOz song we knew and some we have never ever played acoustically before as folk joined into be part of something quite unique and a bit special. One refreshed local gentleman even started a 'Friggin in the Riggin' acapello version which l was more than happy to join in with. Rob from Spitfire Bullets joined in the action as we covered 'God Save the Queen' and 'Blitzkrieg Bop'. Then Jordan from Black Bloc got in on the act with 'Alternative Ulster'. It was just one of those great nights and a cracking end to a hectic non-stop weekend. I'm kind of proud that we helped resurrect a night that was dying on its arse. We headed out of Jarrow tired but more than happy we had achieved what we set out to do, play 4 gigs in under 24 hours, and we did it. No big deal, just saying :) Thanks to everyone who came to support us over the weekend you know who you are! No sleep til Bed time!!!

Oh yes boys and girls it’s time to start pushing ourselves and give it all we got...you up for it? Cos we are :)

So after our successful gig with Sham 69 last Saturday night in Selby, some good contacts were made, and true to their word have come up trumps with a gig for LoGOz on Saturday at The Teams Club in Gateshead supporting THE COCKNEY REJECTS. This is the first night of their 35th Anniversary Tour, so it’s a great pleasure to be playing on this night. Big thanks to Stief for arranging this. Also playing are excellent street punks GIMP FIST from Darlington. Tickets are high in demand and are £12.50 advance and £15 on the door. This kicks off at 7:30pm.

After hopefully blowing the roof off the Teams Club in Gateshead we will be shaking hands and the sweat off our brows and howking our guitars, amps and sticks back to The Roxbury in Blyth to tear the place a new arsehole in the shape of a gig with local punksters COLLISION. LoGOz - Sham 69 Punk Fest 25/10/14 - NEW Go Fund Me project!!!

It was around 4pm as we headed out of Northumberland and made our way to the depths of Yorkshire that is Selby. Traffic wasn't too bad as the LoGOz mobile was full to the brim of gear and bodies. Carlos hijacking the sound system as ever, Paul putting his foot to the floor, as Clemmy (Manager) and myself were squashed in the back with guitars and drum stands poking out in the most dangerous of places. Rock n Roll indeed!!!

We pulled up at the Riverside venue just after 6pm in good time as we weren't on stage til 8.30pm. We took the gear to the backstage area in time to catch the anthemic punk tones of The Kingcrows high energy sing-a-longs, and I particularly enjoyed set closer 'Beer & Whisky'. I was still disappointed we missed The Fanny Pads, apparently they only play once a month.

Next up was Bad Dog No Biscuit, dressed in Hawaiian Shirts their tongue in cheek grungy punk pop put me in mind of The Presidents of The United States of America. Then it was Inequality Street with aggressive in ya face street punk you wouldn't wanna mess with these guys. One of them sporting a t-shirt with the amusing slogan 'Fat People are Harder to Kidnap'. Nice.

So after a quick change over it was just after 8:30pm as we ripped into 'Long Time Dead'. The reaction of our new friends and fans was brilliant as we tore through our 11 strong song set climaxing with 'Mexicola', and even topically replacing the final chorus with 'Dont catch Ebola'. Bad taste? No offence, we were having too much fun to care! A cracking gig, great sound, great stage, great venue, great crowd. No sooner had we left the stage when new friends and contacts were making their presence felt. Top bloke and Sham 69 Road Manager Stef (who wasn't the only one wearing a 'Cameron is a C**t' T-Shirt) was great crack afterwards and really into LoGOz so we're already in the process of lining some gigs up very soon. More news on this as it happens.

Kingcrows lead singer Phil E Stine was also bang into the tunes and we had some great banter about Punk rock, the Wildhearts, football and ermmm Steps!!! A few more beers were had as photos were snapped including some Euro alcoholics falling onto Clemmy mid action. Mad bastards. Big thanks as well to Rob from Spitfire Bullets and Sophie Slash Daniels for their support.

Main local support act Total Disfunction were the last band before the headliners, and they certainly lived up to their name with their full on extreme mohawk punk rage! Then of course it was the turn of Sham 69 fresh from their USA & European Tour showed they have lost none of their zest or enthusiasm for a good old punk rock show. The crowd lapped up the classics that are 'Borstal Breakout' 'Hurry up Harry' and of course 'If the Kids are United'.

We said our farewells as Rob Spitfire Bullet, despite being a pocket sized version of Johnny Ramone decided to lift every member of LoGOz into the air, for best reasons known to himself haha! But aided by alco-strength he managed it with aplomb.

We headed out of Selby with our ears ringing and our souls buzzing. There was a good feeling in the air as we sped back up North with our well earned travelling cans. Pity we couldn't have put our clocks back a bit earlier and milked the night for all its worth. Top gig again for LoGOz things are just getting better and better. Big thanks to Ian Wright from The Riverside Venue for putting this great event on and inviting us to play.

LoGOz - The Highs & Lows & the Return of Anarchy!!!

The highs and lows of this punk pop rock n rollercoaster we call LoGOz or LoGO2 continues in ever unpredictable fashion! Friday saw us play a sneaky blinder as we opened up a Charity Fund Raiser at The Elephant in Ashington. After a swift soundcheck which had us more than pleased with the amount of power Carlos and myself had with just Guitar and Drums, we were scheduled for an 8pm start. The venue was filling up champion with friends, family, new faces, familiar and peculiar, as well as the other bands. We blasted through a 10 song set of no nonsense edgy punk melodica! We were the sugarcoated iron fist, chewing bubblegum with razorblades if you like :) Our second unexpected 2 piece gig nailed in a week, so we were more than happy, as was the crowd with a great reaction, it couldn’t have went better.
Next up was Ball of Mayhem who delivered their anthemic hook laden metal as ever, and climaxing with Live favourite 'Obliteration'. Finishing the night was Guardian ahead of their European Tour who smashed through their extreme metal like young chaps possessed! Another great night had by all involved. Thanks to everyone who came down and contributed to a great night. Also big up to Lisa and Zac Yates from Guardian for asking us to play.

After the high of Friday night, our mouths were still dry and our heads still pounding when we were informed on Saturday afternoon that unfortunately we wouldn’t be playing The Northumberland Arms on the Saturday night. Just one of those things and a few hitches led to the event being cancelled.

But every cloud etc.. This then fortunately gave me time to work on a brand new ANARCHY IN THE U.S.A Show for Radio Northumberland. So I will be back on the airwaves coming in your ears on Tuesday October 14th at 9pm. You can listen Live on www.radionorthumberland.com  On this weeks show I'll be playing some classic Green Day, Foo Fighters, The Dollyrots, The Interrpruters and more, as well as brand new tracks from Slash, Richie Ramone and Rancid. Turn on, tune in and crank it up!!!

LoGOz - Gig Weekender Rocktober 10th & 11th

After our successful Tuesday night punk/pop shenanigans with The Dollyrots we look ahead to another busy weekend of gigs!!! Although its not always as simple as that in this band, or any band for that matter :) So unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances Paul will not be playing with the band this weekend. But like true Rock Troopers we are, we will still be playing these gigs as a 2 piece. And if you were at The Clef & Cask gig last Friday night you know we can pull this off :) Nobody said it was gonna be easy!!!

So Friday night we have a hometown gig in familiar surroundings at The Elephant in Ashington. This is a fundraising event for GUARDIAN ahead of their 30 day European tour. Also playing are our good friends BALL OF MAYHEM. This gig is £2 entry so get down early the doors open 6:30pm. Carlos and myself will be hitting the stage around 7:30pm. There will be raffle draws with cool prizes including a LoGOz - PSYCHO RADIO Tee Shirt :) But if you arent a lucky winner dont forget we will still be selling our snazzy Tee's for £8 a pop. These are running out fast so steam in lads and lasses :)

Saturday night we are back in Newcastle at The Northumberland Arms. We will be playing with young angry punk starts BLACK BLOC,  the wonderfully pubic toupee influenced THE MUFF WIGS & Cumbrian alternative punksters HEXED. We should be cranking it up around 9:30pm. But again come down early and help support this great night of original Live music. Its £4.00 on the door and kicks off at 7.00pm.

We hope to see lots of your familiar faces at these gigs this weekend, and judging by the reaction lately we can see a lot of you know the words to our songs, so sing loud and proud as you are all now official LoGOz backing vocalists!!!

LoGOz & The Dollyrots Review. Three Tuns. Gateshead 07/10/14

The night didn’t get off to the best of starts with a Moira Stewart-esque satnav wife sending us up the backstreets of Gateshead and heading towards the Angel of the North!!! Quick turn around and some helpful directions from a bewildered early evening shopper and we were back on track to The Three Tuns in Gateshead. As we arrived at the venue The Dollyrots were catching up on some rest in their Tour Van so we thought best not to bray on their windows as a welcome! Things seemed to be running late regarding soundcheck for the support bands as we were informed a quick line check before we go onstage would be the order of the day. Not even a problem :)
The venue was filling up and counting as first band Guilt City opened up. As young svelte leather jacket cladded bare chested lead singer addressed the growing crowd it was gonna be a fucking great night, we couldn’t help but agree. The band delivered a good in ya face hard rocking set with some cool tunes and great riffs.
As we hit the stage around 9:15pm the venue was bustling with a great crowd and atmosphere. We tore straight into 'Long Time Dead' and from then on in everyone was on our side! Familiar as well as new faces sang and shouted along as phones and cameras flashed, we blasted through one of the quickest half hours of our lives! We were having so much fun we even missed out 'Dead or Living in America' sorry Dad :) Finishing with usual set closer 'Mexicola' we knew we had delivered the goods.
Then it was the turn of The Dollyrots who ripped through their punk pop sing-a-longs as slick as ever, as the crowd lapped it up. A great gig again for LoGOz as we stayed behind chatting to Kelly and Luis from The Dollyrots. l gave them a LoGOz t-shirt for good measure as we posed for a few photos too. All in all a cracking night and we thank you for the amazing turn out and support as ever. Also thanks to Phil Hughes from Insangel for putting the gig on. See you all this friday and saturday at our next LoGOz gig weekender. More news on those in the next blog. Stay tuned :)

LoGOz - Clef & Cask review & The Dollyrots Gig Oct 7th

Hey well its been an interesting few days in camp LoGOz!!! On Friday due to unforeseen circumstances Paul unfortunately couldn't make our gig at The Clef & Cask in Cramlington. It was too late in the day to find a replacement guitarist and cancelling the gig just wasn't an option for us. So I decided we would carry on and do the gig just the 2 of us a la White Stripes, with my Jack White to Carl's Meg :) We didn't really have any time to work out a change in dynamics for certain songs so we just thought lets get up there crank my geetar up an extra fuzz notch and Carlos like Animal on prozac we blasted through a 10 song set like a pair possessed!! We went down a storm with the great crowd who had turned up to make a noise with us. Familiar faces cheered and sang along and new friends joined in and congratulated us on a fantastic gig in the face of adversity!! There was some great banter and a feel good vibe about the place, and in particular the local intoxicated heckler who was insisting on us playing ABBA or LED ZEPPELIN who was put in his place with a smile on his face :) Big thanks to ALL OUT ATTACK for a great set and to Daz for asking us to play, and not forgetting Nick Newcombe from Koast Radio for spinning some great tunes. Last but not least big up to Mickey O and Kev from COLLISION for doing a great job with the PA and Sound. As always Cheers and Beers to the LoGOz crew who continually come along and support us, it is hugely appreciated :)

So on to Tuesday October 7th and we're supporting American Pop Punkers The Dollyrots at The Three Tuns in Gateshead. Tickets are £6 and if anyone hasn't got a ticket then fear not, get in touch with the band via Facebook or on Twitter @PeeshNE63 @ClemmyScotswood @LoGOz and we will sort you out :) The band are in the middle of their UK Tour with British Punk legends The Buzzcocks, and are stopping off at Gateshead for a Headline show so we're pleased to be supporting the guys. We will also be back to full strength with Paul returning to the stage after his one gig absence. This is gonna be a cracking night. We cant wait!!!
See ya there

LoGOz - Lord Clyde & The Doll Reviews & More!!!

Great to get back on the Live track on Saturday night at the Lord Clyde in Byker through NEMIX Promotions. A slight alteration in the line up saw us headlining, so I for one wasnt complaining. Main support band Shinobi Fantobi warmed up well with their original alternative indie set scattered with a few covers including Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles. We hit the stage around 10:15pm with a good crowd of some new and familiar faces, including Mr Keith Newman from Radio Northumberland and Tony Houghton from Collision. We blasted through a tight slick 35 minute set which went down great and it felt good to be back in action. As we played set closer 'Mexicola' my lasting vision is of Mr Houghton punching the air outside singing along just as a Police car hastily pulled up to the venue. I must say, there were no arrests :) Thanks to a rather refreshed Mark from NEMIX for putting this event on and enjoying our set. With the bar closing at a frustratingly early time we celebrated a great gig with pre-bought Cider in the car park using 'borrowed' pint glasses and an empty vodka bottle. Nice.

So on to Sunday and a last minute stand in support slot down at The Doll at The Black Bull in Gateshead with Manchester Punk Folkers ROUGHNECK RIOT, on their Out Of Anger UK Tour. We got to meet the band during Soundcheck and they were a cool bunch and really appreciative and like minded in what we're doing. With the venue filling up nicely we took to the stage at 9.10pm. We blasted through the same 35 minute set as Saturday night but almost with a little more vigour as the vibe and reaction of the Doll brought out the best in us and our new friends and fans lapped it up. After the gig we sold out of PSYCHO RADIO CDs so the original run of those copies has now ended. But fear not, we've got some pretty cool news coming of whats happening next, so watch this space. So with the merchandise selling well we enjoyed a beer or 3 watching ROUGHNECK RIOT rip through their mandolin banjo guitar bass accordion political folk punk for the people! Also good of the band to give LoGOz a few shout outs from the stage too. Cheers guys. Another great night for the band and we ended it with a few photos and banter with the RIOT's as well as some unofficial after hours consumation. Thanks to Shev from The Doll for putting us on and also to everyone who came to see us over the weekend. We really appreciate the support, you know who you are :) Lots  more to talk about in my next blog coming later this week. Stay tuned :)
