LoGOz - Lord Clyde & The Doll Reviews & More!!!

Great to get back on the Live track on Saturday night at the Lord Clyde in Byker through NEMIX Promotions. A slight alteration in the line up saw us headlining, so I for one wasnt complaining. Main support band Shinobi Fantobi warmed up well with their original alternative indie set scattered with a few covers including Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles. We hit the stage around 10:15pm with a good crowd of some new and familiar faces, including Mr Keith Newman from Radio Northumberland and Tony Houghton from Collision. We blasted through a tight slick 35 minute set which went down great and it felt good to be back in action. As we played set closer 'Mexicola' my lasting vision is of Mr Houghton punching the air outside singing along just as a Police car hastily pulled up to the venue. I must say, there were no arrests :) Thanks to a rather refreshed Mark from NEMIX for putting this event on and enjoying our set. With the bar closing at a frustratingly early time we celebrated a great gig with pre-bought Cider in the car park using 'borrowed' pint glasses and an empty vodka bottle. Nice.

So on to Sunday and a last minute stand in support slot down at The Doll at The Black Bull in Gateshead with Manchester Punk Folkers ROUGHNECK RIOT, on their Out Of Anger UK Tour. We got to meet the band during Soundcheck and they were a cool bunch and really appreciative and like minded in what we're doing. With the venue filling up nicely we took to the stage at 9.10pm. We blasted through the same 35 minute set as Saturday night but almost with a little more vigour as the vibe and reaction of the Doll brought out the best in us and our new friends and fans lapped it up. After the gig we sold out of PSYCHO RADIO CDs so the original run of those copies has now ended. But fear not, we've got some pretty cool news coming of whats happening next, so watch this space. So with the merchandise selling well we enjoyed a beer or 3 watching ROUGHNECK RIOT rip through their mandolin banjo guitar bass accordion political folk punk for the people! Also good of the band to give LoGOz a few shout outs from the stage too. Cheers guys. Another great night for the band and we ended it with a few photos and banter with the RIOT's as well as some unofficial after hours consumation. Thanks to Shev from The Doll for putting us on and also to everyone who came to see us over the weekend. We really appreciate the support, you know who you are :) Lots  more to talk about in my next blog coming later this week. Stay tuned :)

LoGOz - Lionheart Radio & Private party Gig Review.

Friday night saw us back on the airwaves and Live in the studio on Lionheart FM Show 'Schools Out' with Chaz Ellis. We hijacked the show from 6 til 7pm with some good natured interview banter with Sir Ellis in between a smooth playlist which included the first ever airing of brand new remixes of HELLO LONELY & LONG TIME DEAD from the new EP. We also got the chance to show off our acoustic skills with Live versions of JUBILEEZER, NO WIN SITUATION & DEAD OR LIVING IN AMERICA. Mr Ellis also presented us with a challenge to write a jingle for the show, which we rose to with aplomb. Piece of piss. I wrote the first thing that came to my head in a typical three chord punk/pop blast. And it worked a treat in a satisfyingly fun kinda way :)  So we'd like to thank Lionheart FM Radio and Chaz Ellis for inviting us in the studio, and we look forward to doing it again soon.

Saturday we were back in our hometown Ashington at The Conchie for a private Birthday bash gig! In typical family and friends-like celebratory fashion, there was a crowd of all ages including possibly the youngest member of LoGOz fanclub. So, young, old and all in between lapped up our 45 minute set and even as the demand for an encore was ringing in our ears, we refrained and left the party people wanting more. Job done. Big thanks to Leanne and Kev for asking us to play and of course to Birthday boy Gerry who turned the big 5-0 on the night. Also cheers to Mark Evans for a great job on the Sound and to Pikk for spinning some cool tunes. So, another randomly successful weekend for LoGOz and so much more yet to come. Watch this space...

Cheers

LoGOz - NEW Gig Reviews & Lionheart Radio

Friday August 29th and a good 3 months plus since we'd first made our way North to the Borders to rock the world famous Barrels Ale House in Berwick. So here we were making our return and it was good to see some familiar faces in the venue coming back for a second helping of LoGOz. Always great to see people singing the words back to us, especially in the cool vibrant cellar room that is the Barrels. Its one of the most initimate places we'll ever play. The banter was flowing as ever between band and audience with both hilarity and bemusement. After a cracking 2 set blast the demand was there for more so we gladly obliged by replaying Dead or Living in America, Joie de Vivre, Hello Lonely and Mexicola. A top night all round and we hope to be back up there around the end of the year, maybe when the Christmas Bells end :) Big thanks again to Jaki.

So Saturday August 30th saw us back home with a short trip up the road to the Bebside Inn Blyth. A more rowdier busier and noiser crowd bounced off the band as we tore through another 2 set blast! Again encores were demanded including new Live favourite 'Disgraceland'. Also a mini stage invasion and bizzarely an inflatable guitar made an appearence and added to the vibe of another great night for LoGOz. Massive thanks to the staff at the Bebside and Paul from Insangel for a great job on the sound and especially everyone who came to help and support us on both nights, you know who you are :)

Back to the future, and this Friday September 5th we will be appearing Live on Lionheart Radio 107.3FM on The 'Schools Out' Show with Chaz Ellis which is on from 5-7pm. We will be sonically coming in your ears playing a few LoGOz acoustic tracks as well as a bit studio chat. So turn on, tune in and turn it up :)

Also a quick mention that this Saturday September 6th we will be playing a private party at The Conchie in Ashington.

Cheers again to everyone for your support

All the best
