LoGOz - Northumberland Arms Acoustic Gig - Newcastle 02 Academy gig - NEW AcoustiCalendar Song #10 'P.i.G'

Saturday saw us back at the Northumberland Arms in Newcastle for a  gig with a difference. For one it was a private party and secondly we were asked to perform an acoustic set just Paul and me, which was ideal as we're kind of in between drummers at the moment, so to speak! The outside underground load in bay provided an ideal setting for a cool photo shoot so we seized the moment for a few snaps.

We also used the area for a quick warm up which was perfect. Opening the night was Jim from KICKBACK GENERATION who played a melancholic 30 minutes scattered with originals and covers including songs by Billy Bragg and John Lennon. As the party was warming up and getting in full swing it was our turn as the clock struck 9:30. We decided to ditch the Val Doonican stools and opted for the full on stand up acoustic assault. I must admit this was much  more liberating than our previous acoustic gigs and allowed us more freedom, less restriction and more projection for the songs! We kicked off with a swinging Jubileezer and breezed through in true punkoustic fashion, penultimately playing the Sex Pistols classic Pretty Vacant before climaxing with Mexicola. All in all a good nights work and a new approach for future acoustic gigs. Thanks to Ian Bartlett for putting us on.

Over the weekend we also received the good news that we have been asked to play the Newcastle 02 Academy on Saturday May 2nd 2015. This will be with our good friends and local Metal heroes BALL OF MAYHEM. Also playing will be GO GO MIDGETS & THE FILTH HOUNDS. More news on ticket prices and transport etc coming very soon!!!

Back to Monday and yet again its time for a NEW AcoustiCalendar track. I cant believe we're up to Song #10 already. That's an Album man haha! So the new tune is called P.i.G (Pride Integrity Glory). Quite a serious little take on the journey of life and being proud of who you are. The title actually comes from when l was watching the classic 80's film Stand By Me recently. It was a scene where the main character Gordie has a flashback. He's with his dead brother and in the background theres a pennant flag type thing, must be an old Baseball team and it had PIGS written on it, with something along the lines of Pride Integrity Glory! I'm not sure if thats the exact phrase but I remember thinking it was pretty cool, so l thought I'm having that :) So there you go! As ever the track will be available for download at www.logozworld.com/52  for the next 7 days. Feel free to share the link or post on facebook or the anti social media of your choice :)
