Its always great to be back playing at The Doll @The Black
Bull in Gateshead, as its one of our favourite venues to play. You know you’re
gonna get a great sound in there (thanks to Shev) and a very receptive crowd!
Friday night did not disappoint! Arriving at the venue just before 8pm it still
gave us plenty of time to get a meaty soundcheck nailed, as our Dutch buddies
The Fuzzbrats had nipped into Town to sample the delights of the local takeaway
selection!
With our set time being 9:15pm the night was gathering
momentum as well as gathering eager bodies into the vibrant room that is The
Doll. So we kicked off bang on time straight into familiar territory with LONG
TIME DEAD setting the pace for a frantically organised slick 12 song setter
climaxing with Live favourite MEXICOLA. A great reaction from a buzzing crowd
and with the merchandise selling well, we were more than happy as we waited for
The Fuzzbrats.
Being no stranger to Dutch websites, l had only seen the
band online so was looking forward to checking them out Live and I enjoyed
their quirky punk keyboard driven set. Although their lead singer claimed he couldn’t
understand LoGOz vocalist in between songs as "..he talk too fast.."
haha! By then we had already cemented our Anglo-Dutch relations, although main
man and Bass player Pete is originally from Essex, and a top geezer! After the
gig we exchanged stories, beers, photos and banter! So we're already looking
forward to hooking up with the Fuzzbrats again in the near future, maybe even
playing in their beautiful country? Who knows :)
Once again another successful gig for LoGOz, and it really
was a cracking turn out considering there was a few big gigs in the area that
same night, in the shape of UK Subs at Think Tank? and Hugh Cornwell at The
Sage in Gateshead...not forgetting erm..... Erasure at The Academy!!! On that
note I give a little respect, l'll rephrase that, I'll give a lot of respect to
everyone who came along and gave their support for the band yet again! You all
know who you are :)
