1. ALIENATION.

The first song I ever wrote for LoGOz. I had been listening to 'And Out Come The Wolves' by Rancid a lot at the time and wanted something short sharp and punchy to kick off this new project. It kinda wrote itself pretty quickly really, and we ended up starting our gigs with it for quite a while as well as being the opening track on 'Psycho Radio'. The lyrics are about the alienation you can feel when no matter how hard you try in all walks of life, you just cant seem to get anywhere. But despite the frustrations you just keep on going!

2. POISONADE.

Oh the joys of our socially accepted legal addiction that is alcohol. This is an ode to the drinker in all of us. Its also a self reminder of knowing limits and not wanting to end up a casualty like we all see, hear and read about. I quite like the quiet verse/loud chorus aspect which isnt a formula I had used that much in my songwriting up until then.

3. JUBILEEZER.

This was a bit of departure for my usual songwriting topic. As its actually just a story of a girl that doesn't exist! I've taken parts of real life people and situations and morphed them all together to create the story of Jubileezer. The name just came to me from out of nowhere. It sounded good, had a nice ring to it, so I stuck with it. It was the first song LoGOz ever recorded at Mill Studios in Alnwick.

4. UNEASY STREET.

Again this is a mash up of lots of true stories of growing up where I live throughout the years. Choosing to pick out the juiciest nastiest tales of the place that made us who we are. Some might say its exaggerated, but look around you, the best, worst, strangest people, families and stories are right on our own doorstep...or maybe its just me!

5. PSYCHO RADIO.

The title track of the album and an uptempo ska kick to this one. It was the first song to feature a bass guitar in LoGOz recording studio, superbly supplied and engineered by Ally Lee. The song itself is all about wanting our songs to get into peoples heads like a psycho radio and stay in there, and believing that its possible. Why not?

6. SKELETONS.

A good rocking riff to this one. Recorded at the same session as Psycho Radio. Lyrically about how we all have secrets and things to hide. As the saying goes we all have skeletons in the closet, but its being aware that for better or worse they're all going to come out and haunt you one day. If you listen carefully you can hear the angelic devil scream backing vocals from drummer Carlos Bennett on the last chorus.

7. DEAD OR LIVING IN AMERICA.

The title came from a conversation with my Dad from something my Great Grandma had said to him years ago. He was saying something he was going to do in the future, and she said 'well I could be dead or living in America by then'. I just thought it was a great title for a song, so I took it from there. So the lyrics are kind of, dont put off til tomorrow what you can do today. What if the the good things that come to those who wait are just the things left behind by those who got there first?

8. LITTLE O.C.D.

I saw a really good documentary about O.C.D that featured 8 Out of 10 Cats comedian Jon Richardson. It was really interesting exploring the serious extremes of O.C.D to the normal day to day rituals we can all fall into without even realising. We're all a little O.C.D. Its also my 3 year old daughters favourite LoGOz song.

9. MEXICOLA.

The 'OLA came before the MEXI. The original idea came from listening to The Professionals 'Payola' and I liked the hook of the 'ola chorus. So I decided I wanted something so catchy just like that. So I wrote what I thought were some of the daftest simplest lyrics I've ever written. Even when we recorded it I was thinking of rewriting the words. For once I listened to advice and decided against changing it. It is what it is. Its a simple nostalgic tongue in cheek look back at my youth. The MEXICOLA title came from a cheap local fizzy drink we used to buy back in the day. I remember reading a review online once saying 'it sounds like Peter Kays nostalgic comedy ramblings put to music' which I thought was one of our best reviews ever!
