LoGOz & The Dollyrots Review. Three Tuns. Gateshead 07/10/14

The night didn’t get off to the best of starts with a Moira Stewart-esque satnav wife sending us up the backstreets of Gateshead and heading towards the Angel of the North!!! Quick turn around and some helpful directions from a bewildered early evening shopper and we were back on track to The Three Tuns in Gateshead. As we arrived at the venue The Dollyrots were catching up on some rest in their Tour Van so we thought best not to bray on their windows as a welcome! Things seemed to be running late regarding soundcheck for the support bands as we were informed a quick line check before we go onstage would be the order of the day. Not even a problem :)
The venue was filling up and counting as first band Guilt City opened up. As young svelte leather jacket cladded bare chested lead singer addressed the growing crowd it was gonna be a fucking great night, we couldn’t help but agree. The band delivered a good in ya face hard rocking set with some cool tunes and great riffs.
As we hit the stage around 9:15pm the venue was bustling with a great crowd and atmosphere. We tore straight into 'Long Time Dead' and from then on in everyone was on our side! Familiar as well as new faces sang and shouted along as phones and cameras flashed, we blasted through one of the quickest half hours of our lives! We were having so much fun we even missed out 'Dead or Living in America' sorry Dad :) Finishing with usual set closer 'Mexicola' we knew we had delivered the goods.
Then it was the turn of The Dollyrots who ripped through their punk pop sing-a-longs as slick as ever, as the crowd lapped it up. A great gig again for LoGOz as we stayed behind chatting to Kelly and Luis from The Dollyrots. l gave them a LoGOz t-shirt for good measure as we posed for a few photos too. All in all a cracking night and we thank you for the amazing turn out and support as ever. Also thanks to Phil Hughes from Insangel for putting the gig on. See you all this friday and saturday at our next LoGOz gig weekender. More news on those in the next blog. Stay tuned :)
