LoGOz - Sham 69 Punk Fest 25/10/14 - NEW Go Fund Me project!!!

It was around 4pm as we headed out of Northumberland and made our way to the depths of Yorkshire that is Selby. Traffic wasn't too bad as the LoGOz mobile was full to the brim of gear and bodies. Carlos hijacking the sound system as ever, Paul putting his foot to the floor, as Clemmy (Manager) and myself were squashed in the back with guitars and drum stands poking out in the most dangerous of places. Rock n Roll indeed!!!

We pulled up at the Riverside venue just after 6pm in good time as we weren't on stage til 8.30pm. We took the gear to the backstage area in time to catch the anthemic punk tones of The Kingcrows high energy sing-a-longs, and I particularly enjoyed set closer 'Beer & Whisky'. I was still disappointed we missed The Fanny Pads, apparently they only play once a month.

Next up was Bad Dog No Biscuit, dressed in Hawaiian Shirts their tongue in cheek grungy punk pop put me in mind of The Presidents of The United States of America. Then it was Inequality Street with aggressive in ya face street punk you wouldn't wanna mess with these guys. One of them sporting a t-shirt with the amusing slogan 'Fat People are Harder to Kidnap'. Nice.

So after a quick change over it was just after 8:30pm as we ripped into 'Long Time Dead'. The reaction of our new friends and fans was brilliant as we tore through our 11 strong song set climaxing with 'Mexicola', and even topically replacing the final chorus with 'Dont catch Ebola'. Bad taste? No offence, we were having too much fun to care! A cracking gig, great sound, great stage, great venue, great crowd. No sooner had we left the stage when new friends and contacts were making their presence felt. Top bloke and Sham 69 Road Manager Stef (who wasn't the only one wearing a 'Cameron is a C**t' T-Shirt) was great crack afterwards and really into LoGOz so we're already in the process of lining some gigs up very soon. More news on this as it happens.

Kingcrows lead singer Phil E Stine was also bang into the tunes and we had some great banter about Punk rock, the Wildhearts, football and ermmm Steps!!! A few more beers were had as photos were snapped including some Euro alcoholics falling onto Clemmy mid action. Mad bastards. Big thanks as well to Rob from Spitfire Bullets and Sophie Slash Daniels for their support.

Main local support act Total Disfunction were the last band before the headliners, and they certainly lived up to their name with their full on extreme mohawk punk rage! Then of course it was the turn of Sham 69 fresh from their USA & European Tour showed they have lost none of their zest or enthusiasm for a good old punk rock show. The crowd lapped up the classics that are 'Borstal Breakout' 'Hurry up Harry' and of course 'If the Kids are United'.

We said our farewells as Rob Spitfire Bullet, despite being a pocket sized version of Johnny Ramone decided to lift every member of LoGOz into the air, for best reasons known to himself haha! But aided by alco-strength he managed it with aplomb.

We headed out of Selby with our ears ringing and our souls buzzing. There was a good feeling in the air as we sped back up North with our well earned travelling cans. Pity we couldn't have put our clocks back a bit earlier and milked the night for all its worth. Top gig again for LoGOz things are just getting better and better. Big thanks to Ian Wright from The Riverside Venue for putting this great event on and inviting us to play.
