12:OTHERS Track #2 / LoGOz gigs!

Well here we are at the end of the second month of 2016 that is February, and with it being a leap year we get an extra day woohoo! It also means today on the 29th it's time for Track #2 of my 12:OTHERS Project. This comes in the shape of 'Ant Mash Up'. The clue is in the title lads and lasses. as this is my tribute to one of my musical heroes, the one and only Mr. Adam Ant. The song features snippets of 4 Adam & the Ants hits 'Prince Charming' 'Ant Music' Kings of the Wild Frontier' and 'Stand and Deliver'. All mashed together in my own unique punk rock manner! I hope you all like it, don't forget to let me know please, your feedback is invaluable! You can download the track FREE for a month from www.logozworld.com/12-others until the next track is uploaded at the end of March. Enjoy!

On the band front we are happy to tell you that LoGOz return to live action this Thursday March 3rd with a gig at The Deck in Redcar. Then on Saturday March 5th we hit sunny Morecambe for Punk Not Profit Festival. Looking forward to getting back in performance mode! It's getting canny busy on the run up to Easter! Stay tuned for more gig announcements and release updates etc!

Solo gig - The Tavern Blyth 21/02/16

Sunday evening saw me back in the solo swing of things with my first acoustic gig of 2016. This came in the familiar haunting that is The Tavern in Blyth. Having played here a few times already in the past with LoGOz and solo it was cool to ease myself back into a comfortable zone! But never one to be complacent when it comes to performing I had already planned to mix the set list up a bit tonight by playing some of my AcoustiCalendar tracks for the very first time! After a swift soundcheck and round of drinks, the clock struck 6:45pm and it was time to do the business. A healthy early evening sabbatical crowd had gathered of familiar bodies from the LoGOz crew and more, which was most pleasing! I kicked off with 'The Ballad of the Disenchanted' and the sound was spot on too, as I was also introducing my spanking new Ox blood Marshall AS50 Amp, and singing through my new chrome vintage retro mic to boot! Boys and their toys eh? Eeh l divent kna! The reaction from the crowd was warm and very receptive so that only added to my confidence. The songs making their live debut tonight were 'The Last Generation' 'Skool Daze' and the solo premier of 'Keep ya Timber in and ya Powder Dry'! They all went down a storm which was most satisfying! Big thanks to everyone who came down to support this gig and to Vince Race for putting this event on and making The Tavern a cool local venue to play! Cheers also to Rothbury rockers Nellys Moss for their set too. Top lads.

Also just to let you all know of another solo gig just added - this Wednesday February 24th at Filthy McNastys in Newcastle for Insangel Promotions. Be great to see ya there!

STOP PRESS!!

Another to add to your diary - The Three Tuns in Gateshead on Tuesday 8th March, again with Mr Insangel!

Also just a quick reminder you can still download Track #1 of my new '12:OTHERS' Covers Project 'Auf Weidersehen Lads' for FREE at www.logozworld.com/12-others

More LoGOz and solo gigs coming very soon! Watch this space!

Radio Northumberland return / Gigs

Monday February 15th saw me return for a solo slot on the New Wave with Newman Show on Radio Northumberland. After listening to last weeks show and hearing Keith blast my new 12:OTHERS cover track 'Auf Weidersehen Lads' to his unsuspecting listenership I felt it'd be a good time to get my arse back down to the studio for a crack and play! Keith also played the track to Auf Weidersehen Pet/The Likely Lads creators Dick Clement and Ian la Frenais in a pre-recorded interview with the chaps as they joshed in true comic fashion "You'll be hearing from our lawyers"! Great stuff man!

So as myself, Clemmy and Jill Bee hit the Radio HQ not long before the 8pm showtime we were greeted warmly by Mr Newman and trustee sidekick Punky Paul. As proceedings kicked off we all chatted in between  Keith's post Valentine's themed punk classics, including 'Love Song' by The Damned and 'Ever Fallen in Love' by Buzzcocks! Then it was my time live on air with a brief chat before I launched into an acoustic version of the afore mentioned 'Auf Lads' which went down great in the studio, as my niggling sore throat was kept at bay with Halls Soothers and council pop! Keith also gave my next '12:OTHERS' track #2 an exclusive airing! This being my 'Ant Mash Up' which is my tribute to the legend that is Adam and the Ants! If you missed this, stay tuned for the official release on February 29th from www.logozworld.com/12-others

I finished my radio appearance by playing one of my favourite AcoustiCalendar tracks from last year 'It's a Way of Life'. Inspired by the excellent punk film 'Good Vibrations' which was recommended to me by Mr Newman, so it was a fitting tribute I thought. As we said our goodbyes there was still time to grab a few cool photos. All in all a successful evening and big thanks to everyone who tuned in and of course to Keith, Paul and everyone at Radio Northumberland.

Speaking of radio, I'm pleased to tell you I have a brand new edition of the PSYCHO RADIO Show coming up tonight on www.radionorthumberland.com at 10pm. Tune in for new tracks by CJ and Ginger Wildheart. Classics from David Bowie and Motörhead. New acts to the show also include The Soap Girls and Local punksters Loaded 44, plus loads more!!! You can tweet me your requests @PeeshNE63

Just to finish off, I'm playing a solo acoustic gig this Sunday February 21st at The Tavern in Blyth with Nellys Moss. This kicks off at 6pm and is FREE entry so come down and finish your weekend off in style! Lots more LoGOz and solo gigs/events being finalised as we speak so stay tuned for upcoming blogs!!!

In the meantime don't forget you can still download my '12:OTHERS' Track #1 'Auf Weidersehen Lads' for FREE from www.logozworld.com/12-others

'12:OTHERS' New Solo project for 2016

Well, after toying with the idea for most of January whether or not to fill the void left by AcoustiCalendar with a new solo project, I've eventually gone and done it! So lads and lasses I now present to you '12:OTHERS'. This will see me recording 12 songs by some of my all time favourite artists/bands/songs etc and will be released for FREE
download on the last day of every month in 2016. So my first offering for January is a punk rock mash up of 'That's Living Alright' from Auf Wiedersehen Pet and the theme from Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads. Two great songs taken from two of my most favourite TV Shows of all time. Both programs featuring the brilliant writing talents of Dick Clement and Ian la Frenais. This song will be to download for a full month from www.logozworld.com/12-others until February 29th when the next cover is upoaded. Big thanks to Clemmy and Jill Bee for making this project go Live last night and ensuring a frantic exciting end to the first month of the year!

Also if you missed my live LoGOz interview last week on American punk rock radio station Whatever 68 with Lisa PunkrPrincess, you can catch up with the show here https://m.mixcloud.com/PunkrPrincess68/

That's all for now folks!

Thanks for reading.

Solo / LoGOz updates

After what's looking like a quiet January on the live gigging front there's still plenty going on in LoGOz world! After a successful post new year uplifting gig at the Tavern in Blyth on January 3rd the band hit the rehearsal room the following week to work on new songs. This resulted in the spanking track 'VOiCE OF A DEGENERATiON'. I wrote this towards the end of last year and which will hopefully be making its Live début at an upcoming gig in the very near future.

Early January 2016 has been quite a busy time personally for writing and recording new demos for LoGOZ. Tracks that have been buzzing like angry wasps in my head have now been laid down and passed onto Paul and Carl to get their collective nashers into. With titles such as 'HUMAN CONDiTiON' and 'END OF AN ERA' these songs are just waiting to be unleashed! Its like chewing bubblegum with razorblades! Ouch!

I've also been rehearsing pretty hard with my AcoustiCalendar bunch of songs. All 52 of them in fact. The point being I always wanted to play every single one of these songs Live at some stage very soon. Im pleased to say this next personal challenge is going very well. I've also added some swanky new equipment to my solo attire. The first being a Marshall AS50DR Acoustic soloist amplifier in Oxblood red. Very easy on the eye and even more so on the ear.

Also lets not forget my new vintage 50s style chrome microphone too which I've been meaning to get my mits on for yonks now! After blasting the arse out of them both last week at Pulse studios in Blyth I'm pleased to say they're sounding cracking and can't wait to debut them at a solo gig near you soon! Watch this space! I must say though the acoustic amp didn't come delivered without incident! Oh no. On arrival as I took it out of the perfectly undamaged packaging I noticed one of the casters on the bottom was totally shattered meaning the amp was unsteady and rocking like a bastard, and not in a good way!

So after a good few days of emails and phone calls via Clemmy, Mizzi Bee and myself and a well known online retailer, my damaged item has to be returned! But I had to wait to be refunded and re order as opposed to a straight swap/redelivery! I'm sorry to say their customer service was nothing short of shite! So after receiving my new gear eventually it's been well worth the hassle in the end!

Big thanks to all at the Guitar, Amp and Keyboard Centre

Also just to let you know on Thursday January 28th I will be Live on American Punk Rock Radio Station www.whatever68radio.com chatting with Lisa PunkrPrincess about all things LoGOz and more!! Catch this show online at 8pm UK time!

Here's a few solo dates for your diaries lads and lasses. Both at the good old Tavern in Blyth. I'll be playing there on Sunday February 21st at 6pm with The Voluntears. This is FREE Entry so come and end your weekend in style, maybe chuck a holiday in for the Monday or hoy a sickie haha! Also I'm pleased to say after a successful Xmas show together I'll again be supporting the chaptastic Mr B The Gentleman Rhymer on his UK Tour on September 2nd 2016.

That's all for now folks. Plenty of new gig announcements and new release dates coming soon! Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading.

Happy New Year - 2016 Lets Go!!!

First of all a belated Happy New Year to one and all. I hope you all had a cracking festive season and are ready to take 2016 by the horns and ride it like a bastard! I know I am!!!

I was sad (as millions were) to hear of the death of Motörhead main man Lemmy over the Xmas period. As a huge fan I was hoping to catch the band one last time on their scheduled January UK Tour, but it wasn't to be. I was lucky to see the band 4 times over the years, at the Newcastle Mayfair 1998, City Hall 2003, 02 Academy 2007 and Download 2010. Every time, the band delivered a high energy no nonsense bad ass dirty rock n roll set of class tunes! Lemmy was/is a true Rock star warrior who lived life loud the way he wanted and took shit from no one.  He will be sorely missed.

Also just heard the sad news today that David Bowie has passed away losing his 18 month battle with cancer. Another icon and innovator of music and style spanning 6 decades! Surely almost everyone involved in music can't help being influenced by David Bowie? Again like Lemmy he was creative right til the end, only releasing his new album last week! Rest in Peace. They will never be forgotten.

Although it often seems a quiet time at the start of a new
year, LoGOz wasted no time in getting back to live action with a gig at The Tavern in Blyth on Sunday January 3rd. We were supported by young fresh faced indie rock starts Primal Colours. Their half hour set with mainly originals and highlighted with a decent cover of Talking Heads classic 'Psycho Killer'. Good luck to the lads for the future. It was great to ease back into the Live scene after we hadn't played together since early December at Riverside Rebellion Festival. But any fears were quickly brushed aside as we delivered a post Christmas cracker of a set, with not a turkey in sight! The band were as tight as our festive waistbands and blessed with a brilliantly loyal bustling crowd still in New Year Party mode! A great start to 2016. Thanks to all who came down and to Vince for putting us on again.

Behind the scenes is where it's all happening at the minute. As Clemmy, Mizzi Bee and myself are in the final stages of putting together the finishing touches to the repackaged PSYCHO RADIO album. Trust me it'll be well worth the wait! We're also working on remixing early demos for some extra unheard unreleased ultra rarities to come your way too! So watch this space!!! Im also pleased to say that the second AcoustiCalendar CD 13.2 is ready to be released at the start of February. More news on this as it happens :)

I have begun working on drum tracks for the 52 songs too. This is a really cool process which will help decide what songs could work as a full new band project. Maybe they all will haha! I'm also planning picking the best, favourite or most relevant 13 songs from AcoustiCalendar 52 and giving them the full band treatment for commercial release later this year! So if there's any of those songs which you would like to hear given a full electric makeover then please do let me know? Speaking of which you may remember towards the end of last year I recorded full band versions of 'Keep ya Timber in & ya Powder Dry' and 'Death of the 7 inch Single' up at Mill Studios in Alnwick? Well we will be restarting work on the video for 'Timber' this month and the plan is to release this as a solo double A-Side Single in the first half of 2016.

And if that's not enough, I've already stated writing new LoGOz songs and recording new band demos! Clemmy is also already working hard filling up the diary so expect new gig announcements very soon too!

I think that's all for now folks!
Stay clean and live the dream!
Live it up in 2016

AcoustiCalendar Final Song #52 ANOTHER YEAR

First of all I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas as we now free fall into the end of 2015. This year will always mean a lot to me, as most of you reading this will be aware of my AcoustiCalendar project. On January 2nd 2015 I set myself a target of writing and recording a brand new acoustic song every week! This wasn't going to be easy but I was in no doubt it was achievable. The mention of this to some around me caused a few raised eyebrows as to whether this could be possible. But here we are 52 songs and 52 weeks later and  I can hand on heart say I am fiercely proud of every single track written, recorded and released this year bar none! Thank you everyone who has followed me on this project and downloaded and listened to these songs over the year. Also a big thanks to Clemmy Scotswood and Jill Bee for the excellent artwork and making sure every track has been available for download every single Monday evening of 2015. I'm gonna miss the creative urgency of a Monday afternoon/evening, but this won't be the last you hear of these tracks believe me. This is just the beginning. Also don't forget you can buy AcoustiCalendar 13.1 from www.logozworld.com/shop 13.2 will be released in early 2016 with 13.3 and 13.4 following swiftly after. We are also in the embryonic stages of the AcoustiCalendar Book with the stories behind the songs with accompanying photographs from Mr. Scotswood.

So the track of the project is ANOTHER YEAR. Another year almost over and a new one set to begin. A reflective snapshot of a year in the blink of an eye! Resolutions, hope, regret, doubt and optimism all wrapped up in an uptempo uplifting acoustic melodic stomp! Also this is the first track to feature percussion this year as I début my tambourine skills for you all :)

So for the last time this year you can download this track from www.logozworld.com/52 If you could please join me in spreading the word for one last time by downloading, sharing, retweeting etc and seeing if we can make this the biggest hit of the project this year! It's only takes a minute to do and it's FREE!!! Also if any of you have missed the odd track then please do message us here.

Let's celebrate this! Another year!
Cheers
